A NOTE FROM GABRIELLE

Nobody likes a wedding as much as I do.

In fact, when I was in my twenties and thirties, I was a bridesmaid fifteen times.

Imagine my excitement when it was finally my turn. Let me tell you: there’s nothing like falling in love and playing princess or prince for a while.

But after getting married, I quickly learned that marriage is a partnership, in all senses of the word. There are many things I wish I knew before marriage — and while I can’t go back in time to give myself marital advice, I can give them to you instead.

My new book, What You Need to Know Before You Get Married, was written with YOU in mind.
It raises the important questions you need to consider beyond chemistry and romance.

After more than 25 years serving as a divorce lawyer and mediator, I can tell you this: nobody goes into a marriage thinking that they will divorce. And yet, for over 40% of couples in the US, it happens.

Getting married is easy. Disentangling is much harder. Whether or not you are about to marry “The One”, there are many things to do before you get married that might not be fun, but are important: not just for IF you divorce (I certainly hope not), but to give your marriage a better chance of lasting forever.

Your wedding will last a day. But with enough preparation, a lot of dedication, and a little bit of luck, your marriage will last for a lifetime.

All too often, I see engaged couples who place too much emphasis on the wedding and not enough on the marriage. It’s so easy to focus on the romance and fun of it all that we can lose our practical minds.

Whether you are single, engaged, married, or even divorced — this book is for you!

As long as you have marriage on your mind, there is something within this book that will enable and empower you to prime yourself, your (future) spouse, and your relationship for a successful marriage.
